Hung up to dry
A Look Behind the Pages
Every magazine has a back room. Ours is less a newsroom than a shared document, a long list of half-formed questions and a group chat that rarely goes quiet on a Friday evening. This page opens the door to that back room: who writes here, how a piece comes together and which things never make it onto the page.
Four names on the byline
We write under pen names and split the work by what each of us does when the laptop closes.
- Oriel edits the magazine and covers films, series and the stories people tell on screen.
- Corentin handles screens, set-top boxes, smart rooms and anything with a firmware update.
- Wenna writes about trips, celebrations and the logistics of getting people in one place.
- Eilif looks after hobbies and the home: sketchbooks, puzzles, lamps and the occasional renovation.
None of us holds a credential in these fields. We are enthusiasts who read carefully, test what we can and point to a professional when a question goes beyond us.
From a question to a page
- The itch. A topic usually starts as something one of us could not answer quickly: which box suits an older TV, how a book club stays alive, where the aurora is likeliest.
- The digging. We read manuals, official guidance and a range of opinions, and note where they agree and where they do not.
- The trying. Where it is possible at home, we try the thing itself: sort the puzzle, sketch the mug, rewire the lamp plan on paper.
- The draft. One writer shapes the piece around what a reader will want to do next.
- The second pair of eyes. Another of us reads it cold, cuts the padding and asks the awkward questions.
What stays off the page
Some things are left out on purpose. We do not publish made-up statistics, star ratings we have not earned or quotes from people we never spoke to. We do not tell readers how to get around the rules of a service they use, and we do not offer medical, legal or financial advice dressed up as a tip. If a subject depends on local law or personal circumstances, the article says so instead of guessing.
Keeping old articles honest
An archive ages. Devices are replaced, apps change their menus and travel rules shift. When a reader points out something outdated, or when one of us stumbles across it, we rewrite the passage rather than adding a footnote. The longer reads page gathers several of the deeper pieces that have had this treatment.

The bylines
Who signs the articles
Four pen names, each tied to the things that person does when the laptop is closed.
Oriel
Editor, films and series
Keeps a running watchlist on the fridge and reads every draft before it goes up, mostly hunting for padding.
Corentin
Screens and home tech
Owns more cables than anyone should and writes about boxes, sticks, smart rooms and the settings menus behind them.
Wenna
Trips and gatherings
Plans journeys with a paper map and parties with a shared list. Covers travel, events and getting people in one room.
Eilif
Hobbies and the house
Usually has a half-built puzzle and a sketchbook on the go. Writes about pastimes, lighting and small home projects.
